Darlene Ortega is a highly qualified educator who champions faith-based early education in Colorado Springs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a focus on Human Wellbeing. She also earned a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Today, Darlene leads Lion’s Path Preschool℠ Colorado Springs with compassion, integrity, and faith.
I grew up in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States seven years ago. As an active-duty Army spouse, I traveled with my husband and two children through Washington and Alaska. Eventually, we settled in Colorado Springs.
Because of these experiences, I understand the unique transitions military families face. As a result, I feel deeply committed to helping local families find trusted faith-based childcare in Colorado Springs. I especially value the opportunity to support military families with consistency, care, and community.
My calling began when I volunteered at church summer camps in middle school. During that time, I discovered how much I loved encouraging children’s curiosity, creativity, and excitement for learning.
Since then, I have continued to pursue my passion for Christian early childhood education. In particular, I find great joy in helping children build confidence through a thoughtful Christian preschool curriculum. Each day, I strive to create meaningful learning experiences rooted in faith, truth, and love.
